you are brave putting that tree smack in the middle Michael...
great how the red glows against the cool greens, the light catching the snow is striking...really like this one!!

Thanks Rob. I have no idea how to paint trees really, and always make an effort to avoid including them as a central element.. so this was a learning exp for me.

didn't see the top painting last time...that building sits there nicely, very solid with good muted colors, love how you get away with so little detail.

So you're heading into spring and inspiration has sprung!!Yipeee
Love the way you handled the big shapes in the figure's 'visage' as well as the opulent flesh tones!
The top painting of the structure is also a knock out!

Thanks Rob, yeah I added the top one after. I though I'd go for one more with the snow befo' it was gone for good!

Thanks Jen, I'm really trying to fill in the gaps when I paint the portraits now. Somehow my work has become really choppy and sketchy looking in the last year or two! I'd like to get a more refined finish in all my work I guess (like your stuff!).

the domed building is a winner, a brooding quality. and some good drawing.
